The legendary diva will be honored alongside Ricky Skaggs, The Hoppers, Dallas Holm, Rex Humbard and Christian rock band Love Song on August 14 in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Franklin’s no stranger to Gospel music. Her father, C.L. Franklin, was a notable minister in Detroit. In 1972 she released her first Gospel album, Amazing Grace, to much fanfare. It’s since sold over 2 million copies and is one of the best-selling gospel albums of all time.
Franklin will join the ranks of Shirley Caesar, inducted in 2000, the late Albertina Walker, inducted in 2001 and The Winans, whom were inducted in 2007.
Congratulations to Ms. Franklin!
