Ledisi was a part of the Patti Labelle tribute at the Essence Festival in 2008. She sang “If Only You Knew.”
A couple years later the Ledisi and Patti Labelle would meet again back stage. “You are one of those people that will have a long, long, long career. You’re one of the best singers I’ve ever heard.” – Ms. Patti to Ledisi.
“Alright” and “In The Morning” from Ledisi’s third album Lost & Found were crowd favorites as she performed in the Superlounge in 2008.
From the church to the juke joint, Ledisi tore the SuperLounge stage upside down. “Think Of You” was a crowd favorite.
A SuperLounge veteran at this point, Ledisi said “Turn Me Loose” when it was time to hit the stage high off the success of her fifth studio album of the same title.
Rock and Soul! Ledisi showed up and showed out as she made her solo Essence Festival Mainstage debut in 2012.
Ledisi always puts on an amazing show. We can’t wait to have her back at the Essence Festival for the fifth time.
