#EssenceFest alum and Grammy Award-winning singer, Estelle returns to the music scene with her fourth album, True Romance and we had a chance to check it out before it hits stores.
A slight departure from Estelle’s last project, 2012’s All Of Me; this album has more of a Pop and House influence as indicated on opener Time After Time, as well as tracks like Something/Good Devotion, Conqueror, and Not Sure [only available on iTunes]. However, there are some soulful highs on the album with tracks like Silly Girls, the reggae-inspired She Will Love, and ESSENCE office favorite, Gotcha Love.
True Romance is anchored by the four themes of “passion, courage, true romance and the bullshit”. All of which frame this beautifully melodic work and give these songs context for Estelle to successfully deliver a very relatable and emotionally-driven story of the human experience of getting up after love has knocked you down.
Standout tracks include: Gotcha Love, The Same, and Conqueror.
True Romance will be available in-stores and online February 17, 2015.
Stay tuned to EssenceFestival.com to see who will rock the Superdome this year! Talent announcement coming soon.
