At 57, Babyface set out to prove that he still could rock some sex-symbol swagger at the end of his crowd-pleasing ESSENCE Festival set.
Closing his performance with a rousing rendition of Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road,” a mega-hit that he co-wrote, Babyface let the ESSENCE Festival spirit move him. He ripped open his shirt and then went running all around the floor at the New Orleans Superdome to the delight of his many fans.
It was the highlight of an extended medley of hits Babyface wrote for other artists, including Bobby Brown’s “Don’t Be Cruel,” Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk” and another Boyz II Men classic: “I’ll Make Love to You.”
With all the dudes on the Mainstage lineup tonight–including Tyrese, New Edition and Maxwell—Babyface showed that he still has plenty of whip appeal.
