This year’s ESSENCE Festival has plenty in store for music lovers of every kind and John Legend has just given us even more reason to get excited about him hitting the stage in New Orleans this summer.
Still enjoying the success of his fifth studio album Darkness and Light, which was released in early December 2016, the G.O.O.D. Music crooner recently took his talents to the historic Riverside Church in Harlem for an intimate performance of several songs, including one of the album favorites,”Surefire.”

The song’s slow rhythm and enchanting lyrics, combined with John’s effortless vocals, made for quite the romantic moment as he serenaded the NYC audience live from Artist’s Den. Watch the performance in full below.
