It’s been just over a year since we watched BET’s “Chasing Destiny” and witnessed the making of Kelly Rowland’s R&B girl group ‘June’s Diary’. With multiple performances, a tour with R.Kelly, a heavily-rotated new single and praise from some of the best in the business under their belt so far, the talented young ladies have shown no signs of slowing down.
Keeping the momentum going, the talented songstresses are now releasing their first mixtape. The new project, appropriately titled Male Edition, features covers from iconic and influential male bands like Jodeci, Jagged Edge, and The Beatles, just to name a few.
Before the announcement, the group released a cover of Jodeci’s “Stay” as a teaser for what listeners can expect to hear on the mixtape. Combining a smooth 90s R&B vibe and a modern pop feel, this project is sure to have fans everywhere hitting replay and wanting more.
Get an exclusive first listen to “Male Edition” below and be sure to catch June’s Diary performing at the 2017 Essence Festival on Sunday, July 2.
