The queen of Hip Hop Soul is officially back!
Following the release of two new singles, including one featuring none other than Kanye West, 2017 ESSENCE Festival performer Mary J. Blige has finally blessed us with her long-awaited 13th studio album Strength of a Woman.

Per usual, Mary is giving fans a front row seat to all that’s been going on in her life, including lyrics that address some of the heartbreaking details behind her recent split from her husband Kendu. While tunes like “Thick of It” and “Telling The Truth” hear the songstress speak about some of the pain of being unappreciated and the hurt of love lost, songs like “Survivor” and the title track, “Strength of a Woman,” boast messages of resilience and triumph even in the midst of heartache.
Mary will be bringing the album, as well as a host of her classic hits, to the 2017 ESSENCE Festival Superdome stage along with an all-star lineup of women in music to include Chaka Khan, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan and Jill Scott, to name just a few.
In addition to Kanye, the 14-track project includes features from Missy Elliot, DJ Khaled, Quavo of Migos, Kaytranada, Prince Charlez and Badbadnotgood. All in all, Strength of A Woman has a little something for everyone who’s been in love, lost love and learned to love themselves in the process.
