It’s been 15 years since 2017 ESSENCE Festival performer Tweet released her debut album, Southern Hummingbird, and she’s celebrating by putting a slight twist on one of the album’s most popular tracks.

A staple in the music collections of R&B music lovers everywhere, the 2002 classic, Southern Hummingbird,introduced the world to Tweet’s soothing vocals and uniquely penned stories of love, life and heartbreak. Among the collection of soulful gems is a song titled “Smoking Cigarettes,” which hears Tweet sing of taking up the common bad habit in order to cope with the emotional effects of a love lost.
The songstress took to her Instagram page with a rendition of the single, which remains a fan-favorite of hers to this day, on Sunday, in honor of the album’s 15th anniversary.
