A Grammy-Award winning Hip Hop lyricist and singer, as well as an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress, Queen Latifah’s Essence Fest Roots run deep.
Just one year before leaving audiences speechless with her portrayal of Cleo in the 1996 blockbuster, Set It Off, Queen hosted our very first Essence Festival in 1995. Since then, she has gone on to achieve unprecedented success across multiple industries and continues to be a shining example of Black excellence. For the past three decades and counting, she has consistently aligned her massive platform with messages of empowerment, leadership, fearlessness and unity among women—specifically, young women of color.
Queen Latifah joins a star-studded lineup featuring over 40 more of the biggest names in music, including Janet Jackson, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Fantasia, Ledisi, Miguel, Daniel Caesar, H.E.R, Jussie Smollett, Big Freedia, Ella Mai and many more.
Be sure to grab your tickets to see Queen make her debut on the Essence Fest mainstage Saturday, July 7 in New Orleans.
See you in there!
