In a lengthy Twitter tirade, Banks took to Twitter and said that the “LGBT community are like the gay white KKK’s. Get some pink hoods and unicorns and rally down rodeo drive.” Screenwriter Toby Finlay responded,”Ugh what a ludicrous f—— cunt of a human being,” in which Banks retorted, “You guys can handle TEN HARD INCHED OF COCK, call a woman a cunt, yet can’t take the word faggot LOLOL.” The spat continued as multiple people virtually confronted Banks, but as per usual, the rapper shot right back. Actor Charlie Condou re-tweeted Banks’ original tweet and asked, “Has @AZEALIABANKS deleted this? “LGBT community are like the gay white KKK’s. Get some pink hoods and unicorns and rally down rodeo drive.” British actress Alison Newman jumped in and said, “Definitely deleted. What an unfathomable idiot.” Quick to the keyboard, Banks shot back and said, “@alisonnewman Botox those frown lines. Juvederm those lips. Get a tan. YIKES!” This Twitter spat comes approximately a week after she was recorded on a plane arguing with a flight attendant and yelling obscenities like ” f—– faggot.” Banks has since deleted the tweets, but she continued, “If I am to be a part of an LGBT community I want to be in it with people who aren’t so weak or so easily moved ya know.” She also continued the feud with Newman. She tweeted: “@alisonnewman you’re confused. You’ve allowed gay men to convince you that u owe them respect while they refer to you as fish and cunt.” “@alisonnewman if gay men are allowed to take words originally designed to hurt women and make them colloquial, then why can’t I ?” “@alisonnewman are their feelings more important than ours? Why do they deserve respect that they don’t give us?””@alisonnewman I don’t have one. At all. The gay community is asking me for respect that they are not willing to reciprocate. Point blank””@alisonnewman @finkowska you’ll get hit with some gay male misogyny one day and look back like, damn AB was right.”
The outspoken artist recently took to Twitter in a plethora of screenshot-worthy tweets surrounding Donald Trump’s most recent statements. According to her Twitter, Banks has just about had it. “HAS ANYONE DROPPED A F—— ANVIL ON TRUMPS HEAD YET?!?! I just wanna sh– in a bag, light it on fire, and throw it through his office window. I swear I wish Donald trump nothing but candida and constipation …Somebody needs to go to the gym, then wipe their a– with a pancake and put it on Donald’s plate.” #WellAlrightNow
Several weeks after Nicki Minaj’s wax figure debut at Madame Tussaud’s in Las Vegas, Azealia Banks decided to take to Twitter: “Wow, they finally give nicki minaj a wax figure and it’s a statue of her bent over on all fours…… White people yo….As much as that woman has accomplished, they had to put her on all fours… Why not standing up with a mic in her hand ???I would complain and ask for a do-over. That’s such underhanded shade. Martha Stewart’s most iconic moment was when she went to jail but they didn’t put her wax figure in a jail uniform… Come on y’all…All ppl are gonna do is go up to that statue and take pictures shoving their crotch in her face and putting their crotch on her butt.” The rapper when on to say, “That’s not nice. I don’t feel good about that. But if u like it I love it.”
This time, Fox News host Eric Bolling started the war. After the alternative rapper announced her hatred for America, Bolling felt the need to comment. While filling in as the host for The O’Reilly Factor, he boldly stated, “African-American entertainers like yourself who make bank on divisive race rhetoric are a far bigger problem than I am.” He then tweeted, “Hip Hop rising star Azealia Banks makes millions off of the America she “hates”.. yet I’m the problem.” To which Banks retorted, “@ericbolling go suck a d— and die.”
However, it didn’t end there. In the spirit of “clapping back,” Bolling continued. “RT @AZEALIABANKS: @ericbolling go suck a d— and die.// Nice….keeping it classy I see.” Again, Banks retorted, “@ericbolling did you see my new video with @GypjaQ where I use two white women as a table ? It’s great !!” #Sheesh
In an interview with Playboy, Banks dished her thoughts (as always) on everything from Kanye West to race politics, to “fat white Americans.” Apparently, she isn’t a huge fan of the U.S of A. “I hate everything about this country,” she said. “Like, I hate fat white Americans. All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms. Those little teenage girls who work at Kmart and have a racist grandma—that’s really America.”
In a Hot 97 radio interview with Ebro, Laura Stylez and Rosenburg, Banks expressed her frustration with today’s music culture, Iggy Azalea and the Grammys. While expressing her anger about Iggy Azalea’s cultural appropriation, she targeted the Grammys for celebrating it. “When they give these Grammys out, all it says to white kids is: ‘oh yeah you’re great, you’re amazing, you can do whatever you put your mind to.’ And it says to black kids: ‘you don’t have sh–. You don’t own sh–, not even the sh– you created for yourself,’ and it makes me upset.”
During an interview with Billboard magazine, Kendrick Lamar spoke about the state of the Black community and today’s social climate. “What happened to [Michael Brown] should’ve never happened. Never. But when we don’t have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within. Don’t start with just a rally, don’t start from looting — it starts from within,” he stated.
Azealia Banks was not having it. The 212 rapper took to Twitter: “‘When we don’t respect ourselves how can we expect them to respect us’ dumbest sh– I’ve ever heard a black man say,” she said. “Lol do you know about the generational effects of poverty, racism and discrimination? There are things in society that benefit a select few of us. fine…. But don’t put down the rest by saying they don’t respect themselves. HOW DARE YOU open ur face to a white publication and tell them that we don’t respect ourselves…. Speak for your f—— self. And f— all this sh– about erasing racial barriers and getting along… Why does white America think blacks even wanna be here?! I really just want my f—— reparations, and want you guys to stop killing my sons and telling my daughters they’re ugly.”
The 23-year-old rapper did not miss a beat when she expressed her beliefs about Black people deserving respect in America. During an interview with Playboy, she said: “Black people need reparations for building this country, and we deserve way more f—— credit and respect. It’s always about race. Lorde can run her mouth and talk shit about all these other b——, but y’all aren’t saying she’s angry. If I have something to say, I get pushed into the corner …y ’all motherf—–s still owe me reparations! That’s why it’s still about race. Really, the generational effects of Jim Crow and poverty linger on. As long as I have my money, I’m getting the f— out of here and I’m gonna leave y’all to your own devices.” Banks never misses a beat.
