“Lace hair was traditionally intended for stage wear or for film, photo and television art,” says Nance. “These worked well for the latter mediums because the camera only captures 2-D so the lace is not well seen and the eye is essentially tricked. However this doesn’t always translate well in real-life.”
Lace front eyebrows are great for enhancing what you have for big moments (prom, weddings, etc.) or when recovering from chemotherapy, but Nance says wearing them on a regular basis can cause problems. “Daily use could potentially cause a temporary problem to become permanent,” he says. “The continued use of adhesives could cause damage or scarring to hair follicles.”
“It’s always tricky when you put professionally marketed products in the hands of consumers,” says Nance. “Just like with hairlines, women’s natural eyebrows are going to pay the heaviest price for this beauty trend.” Improper application and removal will be the biggest culprits. Your best bet is to seek a professional for proper application.
