Troy and Joy started off as friends but a day spent baking cookies and watching old re-runs of Soul Train transformed everything for the now happily married couple!
Joy immediately teared up when she tried on her light gold colored fit and flare dress with some accessories and a veil! In that moment, she knew it was the one!
Joy found her dress during her first bridal appointment and it looks perfect!
Troy realized that Joy was “the one” for him after she took him to church.
“She’s also good at video games, and will actually watch football with me.”
Joy’s bouquet had a mix of soft purple hanging orchids with a mix of small roses and gold accents. Too divine for words!
Troy tried to envision a life with her and one without. He went out and bought an engagement ring the next day!
Joy’s mother helped select most of her accessories including her pearl broach bracelet and a delicate gold bib necklace. Her picks are perfect!
Joy said she was very relaxed during her time as a bride and that made her wedding experience enjoyable!
“It was amazing to be surrounded by friends and family celebrating your happiness.”
During her Bachelotette weekend, Joy and her friends went to Vegas! Too fun!
Troy and Joy each had two of their closest friends stand alongside of them for their union.
“He often does things for me that I didn’t even know that I wanted or needed,” says the blushing bride of her grinning groom. “He takes really great care of me.”
Joy is seriously serving face in her beautiful 20’s inspired look!
Joy admits that it’s “hard to pinpoint one thing” that she loves most about Troy! It’s a difficult choice to make!
“Troy is the only person that I can truly be myself around,” said the bride. “Being with him just felt right. It just made sense. And every day since we got married just proves that saying “yes” was the best decision for me.”
Joy had two dresses on her wedding day and both were beautiful!
Joy’s father helped her hold her dress as she prepared to walk down the aisle. How sweet it is to be a daddy’s girl.
The couple swapped “I Dos” under a beautiful outdoor pavillion.
“My dad walked me down the aisle,” Joy said. “Because he’s my daddy.”
Joy’s choral group “Voices of Inspiration” provided the music for the ceremony along with a string quartet! So amazing!
Not only did Joy’s father walk her down the aisle but he also officiated her wedding!
Neither Troy nor Joy cried during the cermony even though the bride admits she came pretty close during the vows!
Troy asked for Joy’s hand marriage while they were on vacation in Paris on Valentine’s day! It doesn’t get more romantic than that!
“Outside of the fact that she puts up with me you mean? I love that she actually loves spending time with me,” said Troy of what he loves most about his bride.
Joy’s dad made a quick change after he walked his daughter down the aisle so he could officiate!
Love happened for the bride and groom when they both least expected it. Now the rest is history!
Added personal touches always make weddign photos so special.
Even Joy and Troy’s cake incorporated their theme of Art Deco and it is amazing!
Troy describes Joy as “a GOD-fearing, highly-motivated, family-orientated, talented superwoman.”
We are loving the look Joy is serving! She is completely embodying the speakeasy vibe of her big day!
It looks like guests enjoyed some fine dining at the reception dinner!
“We had little corked, glass jugs to go with our speakeasy theme. They were custom labeled with our wedding logo and halos or devil horns and had little tags with the guests’ names and table numbers. The jugs with halos were filled with apple cider and the devil horns were filled with apple pie flavored bourbon. I apparently underestimated how many folks wanted devil horns, though!”
“Troy is easily the smartest man I know. He’s also super supportive, and extremely funny,” said Joy.
Troy and Joy incorporated a Modern Speakeasy/Art Deco theme for their reception! We LOVE it!
It looks like the wedding guests had a ton of fun during the reception!
Over 100 of the couple’s closest friends and family danced the night away during their reception!
The couple’s reception room incorporated lighting that made it appear in a rich, orange-red color! How sultry!
“I did know that I had a level of comfort with him that I’ve never had with anyone else,” said Joy. “We were always very close friends and then, eventually, the best of friends. To love your best friend is a gift. You get to a point where you can’t imagine it any other way.”
