#BlackTieBlackDesigner! That was the theme of the night for the second annual Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala. Guests gathered at the gorgeous New York Public Library, rocking their best ensembles designed by Black designers. Christopher John Roger gowns, a Bed On Water dress, Brandon Blackwood bags, Aliétte, Sergio Hudson, etc. — the room was full of the best and brightest in Black fashion.
The night also celebrates the best of Black fashion. Designers like Sergio Hudson, Omar Salam (of Sukeina), and Charles Harbison, alongside stylists Carlos Nazario and Shiona Turini, and both the supermodels of yesterday (see; Veronica Webb) and today’s “it” girls (see; Anok Yai and Maria Borges) — all came together to celebrate the Fifteen Percent Pledge and its continued efforts in diversifying the retail space. This year the pledge introduced its Achievement Award, with beauty brand 54 Thrones taking home the top prize.
