If you haven’t seen Toccara Jones on your big or small screen in a couple of years, it’s because she has been busy running an intimate apparel empire. The model, host, and TV personality returned to Instagram just before the new year began after an almost 2 year hiatus, just in time for us to fall in love with her charisma all over again.
And on Tuesday night the America’s Next Top Model vet gave us a small glimpse of her new do after she did her recent big chop. Scissor fingers have been itching a lot amongst celebrities in this new decade, and she has now joined the ranks of Tia Mowry, Keyshia Cole, and other beauties who made the leap into (or back into in Toccara’s case) the world of short hair.
“A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life,” she wrote in the IG post. Now that was a word.
So many women who have done the big chop have explained that while it might have been scary initially, it was freeing. This isn’t the first time we’re seeing the top model with short hair, but it is the first time we’re seeing it like this, with her natural curls. In the Instagram post she shouted out her stylist MonaLisa Tha Great at Trendsetters Barbershop in West Hollywood, California for executing her gorgeous cut.
Always the life of the party, Tocarra splashed into our lives back in 2004 as the “big, beautiful, and fabulous” plus-size contestant on America’s Next Top Model Cycle 3. Though she didn’t take home the title, she easily became one of the most beloved ladies to grace the show. And she still is.
