If you need a lesson in how to confidently rock short hair, look no further than Cynthia Erivo. Beyond her undeniable talent as an actress and singer, we’re also obsessed with the Brit’s blonde coif. No matter the occasion, it always look cutting edge and pretty much perfect.
As of late, the Tony Award winner has been veering away from her now signature look and experimenting with longer tresses.
Last night (September 27), the Color Purple star stopped us dead in our tracks with this mane moment at the Met Opera season opening performance of Tristan and Isolde. We’re wigging out (pun intended) over these bombshell blonde waves! Seriously, the slay is real.
And of course, her gown is by Christian Siriano, one of a select few designers who actually champion curves on the red carpet.
Cynthia also test drove her new look at the American Theatre Wing Gala, where Cicely Tyson was being honored. Her hairstylist, G. Modeste, tells ESSENCE that the look is inspired by Billie Holiday.
“Cynthia’s dress brought it to life…got me excited to just go back in time,” she adds.
It’s always inspiring to see our favorite celebs have unapologetic fun with their hair.
We look forward to seeing more mini makeovers from Cynthia this season!
