Before actress Ta’Rhonda Jones landed the job as Taraji P. Henson’s assistant on Empire, she worked two jobs while managing several side jobs. “Before Empire I never had a life,” says Jones. “I never got to do anything a normal 25-year-old could do for a very long time.”
Now the Chicago-native has a prominent role on Empire, and couldn’t be happier. In fact, she carved a heartbeat on the side of her head to symbolize life. “Once I got the job on Empire, [my hairstylist] asked me what design I wanted in my head, and I said ‘a heartbeat, because I’m finally living now.’”
Ironically, months later the Go Red for Women Dress Collection asked her to walk in the annual fashion show and Jones felt she was the perfect person. “Walking in the show is just so cool, I couldn’t be happier,” says Jones.
Cheers to finally living and being happy!
