Everyday women around the world are paying top dollar for hair marketed as 100 percent human hair that is often dead hair. When entrepreneur Riqua Hailes realized the hair extensions industry is a $684 million dollar unregulated business, she knew something had to be done. Hailes decided to trek to the Far East to get answers.
Now, several months later, Hailes is releasing Just Extensions: The Documentary to uncover the truth about the extensions market from a global perspective, and more importantly, provoke conversations and educate the hair care and extensions community. “The industry has learned how to trick the consumer’s eye by selling and marketing hair for high price tags that quickly shed, tangle or matt”, said Hailes.
The documentary will be available on iTunes October 21.
