Double buns are simple enough, so why not spruce them up with a braid or two? This easy tutorial will show you how to put a fresh spin on the classic ‘do with cornrows and beads.

Step 1: Begin with freshly washed and blow dried hair.
Step 2: Part a two inch wide section of hair down the center of the head with a rat tail comb.
Step 3: Be sure to clip your remaining hair toward the back so you can clearly see each part.
Step 4: Part from the top of the two inch section, continuing along the hairline and toward the right ear.
Step 5: This should create an L-shaped line.
Step 6: Repeat on the opposite side.
Step 7: Part the center two-inch section into two one-inch sections.
Step 8: Take one part and cornrow from the crown area toward the forehead.
Step 9: Continue braiding toward the ear.
Step 10: Repeat on the opposite side and add accessories (optional).
Find beads or other reflective charms at your local beauty supply store!
Step 11: Create a vertical line from the center to the back of the head with a rat tail comb and brush up the hair on one side.
Step 12: Place one section of hair into a secure ponytail.
Step 13: Wrap the ponytail into a bun.
Step 14: Repeat on the opposite side.
