La La Anthony isn’t bothered by haters who claim she can’t act.
The Power actress stopped by The Breakfast Club earlier this week after her memorable (Spoilers ahead!) scene on the hit Starz series, where she told the show’s hosts that working on the show proves she has what it takes.
“My thing is that I’m doing it. So, if I couldn’t do it, then why am I doing it? If you can do it better then why you not getting the jobs I’m getting? That’s how I look at it,” she said.
“I put my all into it. I didn’t start that way so it’s been a different journey for me, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do it,” she continued. “People just naturally want to hate because you started differently. ‘You’re not a real actor, you started on the radio.’ Alright, maybe I didn’t come into it like you, but I put the work in and I continue to put the work in so that doesn’t bother me.”
Anthony’s time on Power as LaKeisha Grant came to an end last Sunday.
The actress thanked fans for their appreciation of the show, writing on Instagram, “To the fans of Power, I love all of you so much. Thank you for taking this ride every season with us. You have made Power a show people will never forget. Thanks for riding with Lakeisha. Whether you loved her or hated her…I appreciate you so much.”
Power is currently in its sixth and final season.
