Lashes are super popular now, and for some it’s not just occasional use. There are young ladies rocking faux lashes every day and not taking care of their lashes and eyes as carefully as they could or should be. I’ve read several articles online about women applying hair weave glue for their lashes. More and more, I see a parallel between the popularity of fake lashes and the proliferation of hair weaves. I’m all for switching it up, making a change and doing you, but it’s also so important to love what you were blessed with naturally.
We’re grown women making our own decisions, and I’m not here to tell anyone not to do anything they don’t want to do. But ladies, I ask that you please don’t put your sight in jeopardy for the sake of appearance. Please don’t sacrifice the health and ability of your natural hair to grow in the long term, for purchased length by any means necessary and weaves that aren’t maintained so as to allow your scalp to breathe and your natural hair to grow.
There comes a time when you have to learn how to love it all as it’s meant to be, whether the hair’s on your head or around your beautiful eyes. You never want to wake up one day and regret the decisions you may have made, in the name of beauty.
