Baby bangs are a hard style to pull off, but Teyana Taylor got it just right for Monday night’s CFDA Fashion Awards. The entertainer wore what appears to be a unit that included the short blunt cut bangs with longer curly tresses in the back. While it’s debatable when the style originated, and by whom it was popularized (possibly Lynn Yaeger or trans-exclusionary radical feminists, clearly not Beyoncé), it’s evident that the style can go very wrong for many, sparking social media scorn for even the most popular.
That wasn’t the case for Taylor, who sported the ’do with a pantsuit that included a funky printed blazer. The entire look came together in a very “Teyana” way—edgy and unapologetic, with a punk rock flair that’s still stylish and covetable.
