For dry hair, pour one cup of coconut milk, then add two tablespoons of gram flour. Massage the mixture into your scalp. Rinse your hair after about four to five minutes. You should use this treatment once per week until you notice your hair’s condition improving.
Another treatment is based with lavender oil. I love the silky smell of lavender. Yum. Nose orgasms. Add one teaspoon of the sweet smelling oil to coconut oil. Heat it in the microwave or the stove for 3-4 seconds. Apply the warm oil at night and place a plastic cap on your head (I usually put a bonnet on top of it) and rinse the following morning. Use at least twice a week to see results.
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse is a fave amongst naturalistas. Combine one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with one cup of warm water. Pour the mixture over your hair after washing. Then apply conditioner. Don’t worry, any smell should dissipate after rinsing the conditioner out.
Fill a glass with hot water. Make sure it is hot, not warm. Drop two egg yolks in the glass then whip them. Strain the contents of the glass then apply it to your scalp and hair. Keep it on for one hour. You have to allow the shampoo to soak before rinsing with warm water. It leaves the hair clean and rivitalized.
Combine one teaspoon of aloe vera gel with one 1/2 teaspoon of grapefruit seed extract in a spray bottle. Then add two drops grapefruit essential oil, two drops of glycerin and eight ounces of purified water. Saturate the hair with the detangling spray and gently comb your hair from root to tip. This should save you time and tangles!
Mix one egg, two tablespoons of castor oil and one teaspoon of vinegar with one teaspoon of glycerine. As you add ingredients make sure you are constantly whipping the mixture. Wash your hair after allowing the conditioner to sit for about 20-25 minutes. This should make the detangling a breeze.
As you can see, there are home remedies for just about everything . You just have to find the recipe. I’ve mostly made a mess in the kitchen and a few small fires, (think Carrie in Sex & The City) but creating these hair treatments have been the easiest recipes to follow by far. Try them!
