You have the perfect dress, shoes and makeup for Christmas, but the only thing missing is a hit hairstyle. Try these tips for eye-catching holiday cheer.

I’ve tried just about every natural hairstyle and if you’ve been natural for a number of years I’m sure you have too. If you want to do something different for the holidays, don’t go overboard by installing expensive extensions or adding color—allow your accessorizing skills to kick in. Keep the hair basic with a twist-out, bun or low side ponytail and add a hat, headband or clip.
Accessories have the unique ability to transform your hair from “everyday” to par-tay instantaneously. I enjoy standing out and being an individual. I use my hair to express myself and it usually ends up being one of the 3 B’s…. big, bright or bold. It is easier to stand out with fashion by using prints and patterns but when it comes to the hair it can be a little trickier.
My favorite accessory right now is a black, felt hat with a wide brim. I literally have to stop myself from wearing it sometimes. It adds that “hotness” you seek in every outfit. And, there are a variety to choose from. A classic fedora, a wool sun hat or a floppy felt hat will do the trick. If you don’t like hats with wide brims-go for the derby hat, a sequenced beanie or a slouchy hat with gems.
On New Year’s Eve, rock a sleek bun or ponytail and add a sequined headband with cat ears. It’s the perfect fun, yet sexy look for the occasion. So, instead of changing your hair with heat or a style that requires a ton of manipulation, save your hair the damage and let the accessories do the hard work.
