It’s no wonder why Tamar Braxton, the youngest sibling star of the hit show Braxton Family Values, is gearing up for the third season of her spin-off, Tamar & Vince. Not only is Tamar the most entertaining of the bunch, but she’s also much-talked-about because of her bevy of go-there wigs and weaves.
From one show to the next, we can be certain that Tamar’s hair will be over-the-top.com depending on her mood.
“Whether I wear my hair straight or curly really just depends on how I feel,” Tamar said during a chat with ESSENCE.com. “If I feel like I want to be a little more glamorous, I will wear it straight. If I’m feeling a little flirty, I’ll wear it curly but my favorite wig is the straight one with bangs and blonde highlights.”
Tamar has grown to love the versatility of her wigs and admits it would be hard for her to start wearing her own, natural hair.
“I have become a slave to the wig and the weaves,” reveals Tamar. “I love the quickness and the fullness. Plus I would never dye my hair because it falls out like a bolt of lightning.”
Although Tamar loves her wigs — so much so that she built extra space in her closet to house her precious hair — she’s also adamant about making sure her own hair is healthy and well taken care of.
“My number one priority is healthy hair,” says Tamar. “When I do wear a weave, I don’t keep it for a long time and I make sure my own hair is braided and very well moisturized. I also don’t put any chemicals in my hair.”
