Jhene Aiko, singer, wellness enthusiast and mother of two recently added another title to her impressive roster – entrepreneur. The “While We’re Young” singer launched a new wellness-centered website, gotoheal.com, which educates her fans and audiences on the importance of incorporating crystals, crystal bowls, sound healing, and tapping into our energy centers to help restore ourselves.
When you first enter the site, you see a prominent circular symbol. Aiko calls it the ALLEL – a living light, eternal love, and an all-encompassing, all-embracing symbol.
You’ll find that she sells 22 crystal sound bowl options. Their purpose is to balance the analytical mind and transmute blockages that give rise to disharmony, enter the depths of our unconscious, and settle into stillness. The costs of the bowls range from $700-800 dollars, while sound bowls sets (three bowls) are priced at $1,200. The sets are made to carry a gentle clearing, cleansing, and renewing energy. What’s unique about the ALLEL sound bowls is that each one is activated and played by Aiko.
In addition to the sound bowls, she will soon sell artisan jewelry showcasing her signature ALLEL symbol. This transition into such forms of entrepreneurship makes sense for the singer, as her brand has a symbiotic relationship with wellness, and many of her fans believe her music has healing qualities. In a past Variety article, she revealed that she incorporated crystal sound bowls, or “singing bowls,” into each of her album Chilombo’s 20 tracks and said she discovered them when she was a teenager. “I was really using them for myself — like therapy — an alternative to self-medicating and not dealing with how I’m feeling,” she recalled. “I just found them very relaxing and soothing, and even addictive to play, like literally the motion of playing the sound bowls felt good to me,” she said.
We look forward to keeping up with Aiko’s wellness brand as she continues to roll out new products.
