Step 1: Begin with freshly washed and conditioned hair.

Step 2: Using a rat tail comb, create a horizontal part across the middle of your head.

Step 3: Clip away the bottom section of hair. Using a rat tail comb, section off the right of left side of your front section of hair. You’ll use this section to create three small twists. Clip away the rest of the hair.

Step 4: Using a rat tail comb, create a diagonal part within the small section of hair you just created.

Step 5: Clip away the rest of the section to prevent the line from going crooked.

Step 6: Separate the piece of hair into two strands and twist away from the ear.

The twist should end at the top of the head and not extend across to the other ear.

Step 7: Unclip the small side section of hair and create two more twists.

Step 8: Unclip the bottom section of hair and detangle if you haven’t already. Then begin the twist the hair inward, starting at the nape of the neck.

Step 9: As you move up the head with your twist, secure the style with bobby pins.

Step 10: Once your twist meets the ends of the three side twists, pull the remaining hair into a ponytail. You can leave the ends out or create a top knot.

Step 12: Unclip the front section of hair and use a curl-defining product or curling iron for added definition. Voila!
