Vogue Arabia just launched arguably their most epic cover yet! Legendary supermodel Iman and Dutch Moroccan/Egyptian model Imaan Hammam are both featured on the magazine’s March anniversary issue, and they look beyond stunning!
In an announcement post on Instagram, the magazine stated “In a world exclusive, two generations of icons unite for the anniversary issue of #VogueArabia, with not one, but three covers. With life stories deeply rooted in the Arab world, @imaanhammam and @the_real_iman are the perfect cover stars for the bumper March issue.”
On the cover, Iman and Hammam are both wearing Saint Laurent dresses with gorgeous turbans by The Wrap Life. Founded by Black entrepreneur Nnenna Stella, The Wrap Life is an online destination for headwraps crafted in Brooklyn from textiles from everywhere from Ghana to Morocco.
Iman shared her excitement by reposting the magazine’s Instagram post, and said, “Shukran (Thank you) One for the ages.” Hammam, who also posted the cover on her Instagram, enthusiastically said, “MOM MY DREAM CAME TRUE!!! IMAN AND IMAAN! It was such an honor to be part of this amazing cover!”
After launching last year as the fashion bible’s 22nd international edition, Vogue Arabia is celebrating its one year anniversary with this iconic cover. Considering it’s still relatively uncommon to see a Black woman on the cover of a magazine especially Vogue, it’s absolutely amazing to see not one, but two Black models, featured on the cover. Congrats to Iman and Hammam on the honor!
