There’s one thing Baby Kaavia, AKA Shady Baby, has absolutely no time for.
Who’s not obsessed with Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s adorable baby girl, Kaavia James Union-Wade, who is only four months and already an Instagram star with her hilarious “Shady Baby” alter ego.
The couple welcomed Baby Kaavia, who’s known for her epic side-eye, into the world on November 7th 2019, via surrogate, making her a new member of Team Scorpio. Her early expertise in the shade department should come as no surprise to her Scorpio sisters and brothers, who already know that those born into the sign are slow to trust and known for their intensity.
During a recent interview with Union and Wade, who are promoting their new Gatorade Zero commercial, ESSENCE asked the couple if their daughter is displaying any other classic Scorpio signs this early on. The answer, of course, was “yes.”
For starters, she’s definitely passionate about her wants. “She’s very specific,” shares Union. “She likes what she likes, and she doesn’t [like] what she doesn’t.”
And, if you’re lucky enough to get a little face time with baby girl, you can skip all of the goo-goo, ga-ga stuff and get right to the point.
“She does not do baby talk,” Union adds about her precious daughter, whose more focused on current events than basic conversation. “She’d prefer to listen to CNN over baby talk any day. She’s not with that. You can have a normal conversation with her and she’ll react.”
Baby Kaavia is also a total daddy’s girl, the Being Mary Jane star reveals.
“There are a bunch of boys [in our house], and he’s like, ‘yeah, yeah, whatever,” Union explains. “But with Kaav, she drools and he’s like, ‘Oh my gosh.'”
