In the early morning hours of Feb. 14, TV personality Chandra “Deelishis” Davis, also known as London Charles, shared an Instagram post requesting help looking for her niece. She happened to be a student at Michigan State University, where an active shooter was present on Monday, Feb. 13.
“My beautiful niece @ariellediamond_ is a student at MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY” Davis wrote in an Instagram caption. “She was in her classroom in the same building as the active shooter and we have not heard from her. If you know her whereabouts please dm me … in the meantime my family and I ask for your prayers 🙏🏼❤️‼️”
A 43-year-old gunman not affiliated with the school opened fire at Michigan State University on Monday night, killing three students and injuring five others. The shooter, Anthony McRae, was reportedly found off campus and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All of the injured persons were students who attended the university.
The former Flavor of Love personality is yet to officially share a follow-up on the whereabouts of her niece, but she did pin a comment to her post from a potential aunt of Arielle, which said that she was one of the victims.
“My sweet beautiful niece. RIP baby girl,” wrote the commenter, who shared a photo in her own InstaStories of Arielle with a halo emoji and a message about trusting God “even when I don’t understand.”
Chris Rozman, the interim deputy university police chief, commented on the recent shooting at a press conference on Monday night.
“This truly has been a nightmare that we are living tonight but we have remained laser focused on the safety of our students,” he said.
Teresa K. Woodruff, the interim president of Michigan State, also had thoughts to share abut the incident, stating it was a day of “shock and heartbreak.”
Our thoughts are with the family of Arielle Diamond and all those impacted by the shooting at MSU.
