In These Are Our Children, a collective of mothers, including writer Ibi Zoboi, social activist Feminista Jones, and designer Nasozi Kakembo, takes a closer look at the how mothers of color often have to arm their children with an extra layer of protection to face situations their White counterparts may never know, from negative stereotypes about Black boys to the alarming rate at which Black girls are suspended from school relative to that of their White counterparts.
