Steve Harvey’s favorite leading lady celebrated her birthday last week, and the party in her honor was nothing short of spectacular. ESSENCE went inside the event where hundreds gathered to sing well wishes to the 55-year-old fashionista and globetrotter.
“Hey listen, y’all. This is a celebration of something God gave to me. He gave me the chick of my dreams, and so I’m celebrating her birthday today,” Harvey said of wife Marjorie before introducing her.
Mrs. Harvey greeted the crowd in a stunning sequence number, saying, “Thank you all, so much. I appreciate it. And thank you, my love. You all could have gone anywhere, done anything. But to come here and celebrate with me, it means the world to me, really.”
Mrs. Harvey concluded her remarks by simply adding, “I got the best husband in the world, thank you.”
Also on hand at Moon Palace Resorts in Cancun, Mexico, were the Harvey’s children, celebrity friends like Anthony Mackie and Lisa Raye, and Mrs. Harvey’s parents and granddaughter.
