Officer Washington is returning to the force.
Sources have reported that Denzel Washington is in talks with Warner Brothers to star as a jaded cop with a special gift in a thriller called Little Things,Variety reports. John Lee Hancock, the director behind The Blindside and Highway Men, is directing the project.
The film follows the story of a deputy sheriff named Deke, who is weary after years of being on the job while struggling to hide a “dark secret” from his past. When Deke begins to work with a LASD detective named Baxter to trail a dangerous serial killer his ability to spot the “little things” that make a case give him an advantage.
Notoriously selective about where he chooses to commit his time and talent, the Oscar winner was allegedly mulling over a few offers, including directing Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming Journal of Jordan, when a meeting with Hancock convinced him to take the role.
Little Things will be Washington’s first movie since the box office hit The Equalizer 2, released last year.
We can’t wait to see Washington back in uniform.
