When it comes to the Black travel world it’s no secret that Turkey is high on the must-see list. Jetsetters flock to the bi-continental country (Turkey sits in both Europe and Asia – the more you know!) year after year to take in the awe-inspiring architecture of The Blue Mosque, the colorful streets of Galata in Istanbul and Bodrum on the coast, delicious cuisine, friendly locals and more.
However, there’s one stop in Turkey that is on every visitor’s bucket list – Cappadocia. The semi-desert region known for its distinctive fairy chimneys and caves dominates the social media travel space with breathtaking, colorful and wondrous images of its daily hot air balloon adventures. Travelers from all across the world book rooms months in advance (seriously, rooms like the ones at Museum Hotel sell out quick) for the chance to take flight and do it up for the ‘gram.
Naturally, if there’s amazingness to be found in the world, Black women are there front and center. These fifteen women brought melanin magic to Cappadocia in a way that only we can. So buckle up and enjoy the ride because these ladies are on a Turkish adventure and they’re going all the way up!
