Attending a wedding is bound to make any single woman think about her own future wedding day. Singer, songwriter and actress Keri Hilson is no exception.
This week, Hilson attended a friend’s wedding ceremony and when she posted a selfie of her flawless makeup and hairstyle for the night, she captioned it with a little nugget about how her own wedding day will go down.
“Sure I’d like to be married someday—but not enough to do it with the wrong person. So if you EVA see “Keri” walk down that aisle, even if I’m old & grey…you can rest assured—I didn’t settle,” she shared.
Keri has embraced her status as a single woman who refuses to settle for less than the best even if that means letting marriage happen at a later time in life.
Although fans continue to wonder why she didn’t marry one of her old flames, the singer has been adamant about finding her Mr. Right. She responded to a comment on her post that suggested her standards may be too high. She eloquently shot the shade down with this response: “To have a man compliment my life, who is equally yoked in the things that MATTER like loyalty, virtue, depth, compassion, and love & respect for God, someone who understands healthy relational boundaries & pushes me to be my best self while supporting each other’s dreams? Someone who has evolved from his lower self & constantly evolving? Someone who has learned his lessons & strives to be a great human being? Someone who holds my heart carefully & treats me well? Who is wise enough to lead me? Nah. And I don’t think God puts anything in our hearts that we are not capable of having,”
Keri Hilson had some high profile relationships in the past with athletes Serge Ibaka and Ricardo Lockette. However, Miss Keri knows that the right man for her is out there and he is worth the wait.
