The only thing harder than falling in love, is staying in love once you get there. This is something actor Sterling K. Brown knows all too well from his many roles, including the sensitive Randall on the hit series This Is Us, and from his most important role as husband to actress Ryan Michelle Bathe.
Brown and Bathe first met in college at Stanford University, but after dating briefly, decided to break up. Three-and-a-half years later, sparks flew once again and the pair reconnected in 2004 and married in 2007. Now, 12-years and two sons later, Brown gives fans the secret to keeping the love alive after all these years.
In a recent interview with InStyle, the Emmy award-winning actor had this to say about life with his college sweetheart:
“Oh, boy, well, communication is first and foremost. Also, my wife is one of the funniest people I know. We enjoy laughing at each other, with each other, and with our children. Even in intimacy, when you’re being all hot and sexy, something can happen that’s absolutely delightful, and there’s no shame in just cracking each other up while you’re in each other’s arms. It’s the best.”
Well they do say laughter is the best medicine!
