Though we can’t say the same for the 2019 Emmy categories, there was no shortage of Black excellence on the red carpet. Black love, in particular, was in abundance as some of our favorite Black celebrity couples shined together upon arrival.
Angela Bassett and her husband of 22 years, actor Courtney B. Vance, had a glow that could light up the entire city of Los Angeles. Sterling K. Brown and Ryan Michele Bathe were there usual fun selves on the carpet while revealing a little known detail about their home life (more on that later.) Viola Davis and husband Julius Tennon displayed the timeless love we all prayed for.
