Each year, experts predict thousands of women will seek surgical vaginoplasty to rejuvenate their vaginas to repair the loss of elasticity that can occur over time after sex, childbirth and certain medical conditions.
The average cost of surgical vaginoplasty can range from $3,000 to $10,00, reports the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the procedure is not covered by insurance and often requires patients to go under anesetcha.

For those looking for less invasive ways to tighten the vaginal canal, there are other non-surgical options to consider. We asked gynecologist Carolyn A. DeLucia, MD, FACOG, part of the team who performs vaginal rejuvenations at VSPOT MediSpa, a ladies only vaginal rejuvenation spa in New York City.
“A ‘vaginal rejuvenation’ is a non-reconstructive vaginoplasty,” says DeLucia. “These are the newest non-surgical technologies that are available to tighten the vaginal canal to increase sexual satisfaction.” Get ready to take notes.
Electric Stimulation
“Electrical stimulation will not directly tighten the vagina, but it can be utilized in a specific situation to help begin to stimulate and exercise the muscles of the vaginal/pelvic floor, aka the levator muscles,” says DeLucia. “There is an at home device called the APEX that can be used in place of Kegels to help aid in reducing leakage.”
ThermiVa
“ThermiVa uses radio frequency to gently heat tissue to tighten the vaginal canal,” says DeLucia. “For best results, three 30-minute sessions are recommended. Although some women do see results after three treatments, the history of radio frequency shows that results tend to be short term.”
Femilift
Treat vaginal looseness in three easy, pain-free, ten-minute sessions with the Femilift,” says DeLucia. “A wand is used to emit a 360-degree fractional Co2 laser throughout the vaginal canal promoting the production of collagen. As collagen is produced, elasticity aids in tightening the vaginal walls increasing friction that increases sexual satisfaction and reduces leakage from urinary incontinence.” The owner of the VSPOT, Cindy Barshop’s team of top women gynecologists, say clients are extremely satisfied and are left Kegel-free.
