Love & Hip Hop New York is returning on December 16th. This season is special, because many of the original cast members from its breakout season will be coming back – most notably Chrissy Lampkin. The longtime girlfriend of rapper Jim Jones made the radical decision to propose to her man (he later returned the love by surprising her with a ring during a trip to Miami.) Though the love between them is clearly solid, the two haven’t yet made it down the aisle.
Yes, Lampkin and Jones have gone back and forth about their wedding plans many times over. But it seems saying “I do” is no longer top of mind for either of them. The reality star recently stopped by The Real and was asked if marriage is still on the horizon. Her answer surprised us all.
“To be honest with you, it’s not a priority anymore,” said Lampkin. “Our relationship is in a good place. I thought that [marriage] was the natural progression, but it’s not for everybody. So, we’re good right now.”
The couple, who have been together for fifteen years, have had their fair share of lover’s quarrells on Love & Hip Hop. Lampkin also notoriously butted heads with Jones’s mother Nancy, as well as his former manager and fellow L&HH veteran Yandy Smith. After leaving the show, the pair tried tackling their relationship woes on their own WeTV show Vow Or Never and the long-running series Marriage Boot Camp. Through their many ups and downs (including a breakup that sent Lampkin on a brief relocation to Miami without Jones) it seems they’ve been able to patch things up and keep on trucking.
Now, they’re back to where it all started. But will tensions again? Find out when Love & Hip Hop New York returns on Monday, Dec. 16.
