It’s been two years since the sudden passing of model and entrepreneur Kim Porter, and her longtime love Diddy is keeping her memory alive.
The 51-year-old mogul shared a series of photos with Porter and their children on the second anniversary of her passing. The photos include happy times by the pool, Kim posing with the kids, and other fond moments that show just how much of a light Porter was to everyone who knew her.
“QUEEN KIM PORTER!!,” Diddy captioned the first photo series. “IRREPLACEABLE … LOVE YOU FOREVER ❤️.”
In another post, Diddy shared a black-and-white photo of Porter looking gorgeous in a long white dress. “The Ebony Goddess!!!,” he captioned the photo. “I miss her so much!!! And always will!!!!”
Porter and Diddy first began dating in the ’90s and welcomed their son Christian in 1998. The couple went their separate ways and reconciled in 2003. In December 2006, Porter and Diddy welcomed their twin daughters Jessie and D’Lila. Diddy also helped raised Porter’s son Quincy, whose biological father is singer Al B. Sure. In turn, Diddy’s son Justin and his daughter Chance (both from previous relationships) had loving relationships with Kim.
Porter passed away from pneumonia on Nov. 15 2018. She was 47 years old. In his May 2019 cover story for ESSENCE, Diddy opened up about the last conversation he had with Porter. “Three days before she passed, she wasn’t feeling well,” he said. “She had the flu, and she sent the kids over to my house so they wouldn’t get sick. One night I was checking on her, and she was like, ‘Puffy, take care of my babies.’ She actually said that to me before she died.”
Diddy also revealed that his village, which includes the Kim’s friends, the children’s grandparents and the other mothers of his children, have all come together to help their beautiful blended family heal and move forward.
“We’re doing really well because her passing has changed us and made us love each other more,” he said. “I’m happy to say that, because at first I really didn’t know how we’d be doing. But God is the greatest. And it’s because of Kim we’re doing this well, because of the way she loved us. We wouldn’t be able to love any other way. Her spirit wouldn’t let us.”
