One thing we can always count on Diddy for is his blunt and refreshing honesty. The Bad Boy founder and music mogul makes it a point to move in love and emit positive vibrations, but he’s also not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve and admit his faults.
While still grieving the death of Kim Porter, his ex-girlfriend and mother to three of his children, Diddy has been sharing throwback photos of Kim while reflecting on the memories they shared. He recently posted an Instagram photo of the two of them cuddling on a couch, captioning the picture with a broken-heart emoji and “SMH.”
One of his followers challenged his sentiments, writing “When she was alive you didn’t wanna marry her. Confused negro. GTFOH.” Instead of clapping back one would expect, Diddy agreed with the commenter. “I know. Played myself smh.”
Diddy and Kim graced the cover of ESSENCE’s December 2006 cover. Diddy revealed within the interview that, at the time, he was the most monogamous he had ever been. Still, he wasn’t ready to consider marriage. “I know she deserves to get married,” he told ESSENCE exclusively. “but I’m just not ready. It’s not a reflection on how much I love Kim. It’s that I’m just learning how to be a good boyfriend. When I’m finished with this step, I’ll move on to the next.”
Currently, Diddy is keeping his spirits high while doing an excellent job as a single father. He’s also back in the game with a new title: Single Diddy!
