NBA player Nick Young (who’s earned the nickname Swaggy P), and Keonna Green, a former cast member on the VH1 reality series Basketball Wives, just celebrated some big news – they’re about to welcome their third child!
The high school sweethearts (Young played for the school’s basketball team while Green was a cheerleader) are already parents to 6-year-old son Nick Jr, and a 2-year-old daughter named Navy. Recently, they celebrated the upcoming arrival of their baby boy with a shower in their hometown of Los Angeles. Green was glowing all over, displaying her cute little bump in a flowy all white outfit.
Young told his followers that he plans to name the child after Tupac Shakur, since the due date falls on the rapper’s birthday. “[Baby] number 3 hopefully the 16 on 2pac bday,” wrote Swaggy. “I’m naming him Nyce Amaru Young or Nyce Shakur.” (Amaru is Tupac’s middle name.)
Green, who runs her own LA-based hair salon, had been in an on-and-off again relationship for years. In fact, she became pregnant with their daughter Navy while Young was engaged to rapper Iggy Azalea. While on Basketball Wives, Green said she left it to Young to come clean to his then-fiancee about the pregnancy. Azalea eventually found out on social media.
Green previously told ESSENCE that she and Young share a lot of history. “We’ve been in and out of each other’s lives and we’ve dated other people, we have still always managed to keep in touch,” she said in an exclusive interview. “It’s something that no one will be able to understand. We don’t even really understand. We’re just like, ‘You know what, we have these kids. You know, we are friends.’ We share each other’s deepest, darkest secrets. We talk a lot. We have that type of friendship.”
