There’s been looming curiosity about what led to Jhené Aiko and Big Sean’s very quiet breakup.
After the “Sativa” singer covered up the tattoo of Sean’s face located on her left arm, fans also began to notice that the two were no longer following each other on Instagram. They had also erased all photos of one another. Though neither party has outright confirmed the split, much less what caused it, we now know there’s no beef between them.
Aiko, who has been busy in the studio recording her forthcoming mixtape, responded to a Shade Room follower who suspected she planned to “snitch” on Big Sean in her new project. Aiko took some time to shut down any notion that she plans to trash her ex.
“Me and Sean are good. I got tons of love for him,” Aiko responded. “My next project is all freestyles where I touch on many subjects and relationships… past, present, and future. I know you all love the drama and would like to think everything I do is about him, but I’ve been through plenty of other things and situations that I pull inspiration from when I sit down and create a song. Have a good day.” You tell ’em, sis!
Jhené isn’t the only one focusing on self. Just yesterday, Big Sean scrubbed his Instagram clean and started over with a series of videos explaining his year-long absence. “Around this time last year, around my birthday, it was good for me but it was wild for me too, because I felt like something wasn’t all the way connecting with my energy,” he explained. I’m big on energy. And I wasn’t feeling like myself, I couldn’t figure out why.” Luckily, through therapy and meditation, Sean found some peace.
We’re looking forward to getting new music from both of these artists, and are happy they both still in each other’s corner.
