How did you meet your man?
We met at a mutual friend’s beach party in June 2013. We talked for a little while but when I went to cool off in the ocean, he left and we didn’t see each other again until months later in September at a going away party for my friend Renee. Renee is now our awesome wedding planner.
Were you looking for love at the time?
Yes and no. I was dating, but I was trying to date casually and not jump into a relationship. I wanted to take my time, be prudent and really get to know people.
What was your first impression of him?
The first thing I noticed was his stature. He was tall and had an athletic build and he was mysterious. I couldn’t tell what his ethnicity was.
At what moment did you know he was “The One” for you?
Our first date was at a coffee shop. As we talked about everything you could possibly imagine and got to know each other, we lost track of time and ended up spending over two and a half hours there together. After that first date, I knew he was special to me and I stopped talking to everyone else.
Was it love at first sight?
It was definitely attraction at first sight, but I think we were both filled with so many assumptions about each other that it wasn’t until our first date that we had that moment.
Most romantic date ever?
Our most romantic date was a surprise trip to Paris. He has traveled the world and this was how he was “showing me around.”
How did he pop the question?
We got engaged on a New Year’s Ever cruise through Brazil overlooking the famous fireworks at Copacabana beach in Rio De Janeiro.
