Jazmyn met her groom-to-be Marquette during her freshman year at Spelman college. Their sweet best friends-turned-soul mates love story will make anyone a believer. Let’s celebrate their love!
“No matter the situation, Jazmyn goes above and beyond for me, her friends and her family,” groom-to-be Marquette says of his future wife. “Whenever I am feeling down or need a pick me up, she can easily bring joy to my heart just from a warm smile and big hug.”
Jazmyn admits that she tried to keep Marquette at arm’s length when she started developing feelings for him. “I tried to keep things as platonic as possible for the first few years of college, knowing that serious relationships during college are often tumultuous and that we both needed time to mature,” she says.
“From the first time I met Jazmyn, I knew that she was special and I couldn’t stop thinking about her,” Marquette remembers.
“I love that my future husband is my partner, and sees us as equals in all things,” gushes Jazmyn.
Jazmyn says there’s one thing that keeps their relationship strong: “We have that x-factor, an undying love and desire to be with each other forever.”
“Not only do I look forward to building a family together, I am also excited to start businesses, learn new skills, and contribute to our community together,” Marquette says.

“Luckily, I didn’t have to kiss many frogs before meeting Marquette,” Jazmyn says as she gets ready for her happily ever after.
“We are both huge fans of the Harry Potter series!” Jazmyn says of her and her future hubby’s fandom.
“A few of my closest friends made the prediction our freshman year that we would eventually get married!” Jazmyn says.
“He’s an easygoing and agreeable guy,” Jazmyn says of Marquette. “Everyone loves him.”
“We were great friends long before we started dating,” Jazmyn says.
“We agree on most things but not all, and we have amazing natural chemistry,” Jazmyn says.
“He told me he was taking me on a special surprise date for our three-year anniversary, and popped the question overlooking the Pacific Ocean in San Francisco,” Jazmyn says of Marquette’s proposal. “He hired a photographer who caught the whole thing on camera and it was one of the best moments of my life.”
“When he pulled out the ring, I knew he was serious, and it was like the world around us went completely silent,” Jazmyn remembers. “At some point I said yes. I cried—a lot.”
