How did you meet your man?
Daryl and I met on Valentine’s Day 2014 at the wedding of our friends Jonathan and Jeshenna Watkins.
What was your past dating life like?
I had taken a break from dating in 2011 after a very difficult breakup. I moved to Miami and used my time there to build a stronger relationship with God and myself. I relocated back to Memphis and did not jump immediately back onto the dating scene. When I did re-enter the dating scene, it was rough – men not over their exes, not ready to give love a chance. I no longer had a tolerance level or interest in anyone who would potentially waste my time and his. I had taken the stance that love will happen, when it happens.
What was your first impression of him?
I thought he was handsome, debonair and a true gentleman
Weirdest date you’ve ever been on?
Honestly the weirdest date would have to be the dinner date we went on the day before he proposed. We had dinner at Seasons 52. Prior to dinner and during dinner Daryl was acting extremely weird. I kept telling him he was up to something but he insisted he wasn’t
When did you know he was The One?
The moment I knew he was “the one,” was after we talked about the days prior to the wedding where we met. There were far too many similarities and coincidences leading up to that day and how we met for it to have to have been anything but God. Jonathan takes full credit, but he did absolutely nothing: (Smiles)
Who said “I love you” first?
Daryl!
How long did you date before you got engaged?
We dated for seven months before we got engaged.
What’s the sweetest thing he’s ever done for you?
His proposal. I am a daddy’s girl. When Daryl proposed, he did so at my daddy’s home with just the three of us there.
