Where did you meet your man?
We met in the grocery store in aisle three.
What was your first impression of him?
I thought he had a beautiful smile and nice tush. (Smiles.)
What was his first impression of you?
He thought I was beautiful and thought I would be nice to get to know.
Did you play hard to get?
Yes! He saw me clearly struggling with a huge bag of dog food and asked me if he could help. I said no thank you.
Was it love at first sight?
Yes, I couldn’t stop thinking about him when I left the grocery store so I turned around halfway down the road and decided to go back to the store to buy some paper towels (that I didn’t need). Thankfully, he was still there.
Describe your most romantic date ever.
He took me to a drive-in movie out in the middle of nowhere. It was so nice! When we got there, he popped up the back of his SVU and laid down a blanket as we watched the sun set and stars come out while enjoying the movie. He even packed dinner for us in his cooler. The only thing missing was the bug repellent.
Weirdest date you’ve ever been on?
The first one, because he stared at me the entire night. I didn’t know what to think. I’d never had that happen before on a date.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened on a date?
He parked in a no parking zone and his car got towed. He then tried to play it off like it didn’t matter, but I knew he was secretly dying inside.
At what moment did you know he was “The One” for you?
When my dog didn’t bark at him when he first met her.
How did he pop the question?
First, let me say, before we got engaged he would always joke like he was about to propose, so the night he finally did I took it as a joke too. We went out to dinner then for a walk in the park downtown. On our walk, he started telling me he loved me, and how much he cared for me and then he got down on one knee as he’d done in the past. I started laughing and asked him to get up because people were beginning to stare and he was embarrassing me. However this time was not a joke because he had a ring, and I couldn’t believe he really was really proposing and not pulling my leg that time. I cried like a newborn!
What are you most looking forward to about marriage?
Having a beautiful family and growing old together.
