The sweethearts plan to have an “Old Hollywood” themed wedding this June, “with lots of cream, gold and pearls,” Lori spills.
When asked whether he knew Lori was ‘the one’ right away, Hezekiah replied, “Yes, she took my breath away.”
“He claims I said ‘I love you’ first,” jokes Lori. “However the jury is still out on that one.”
Lori says she and Hezekiah’s most romantic date ever was when he took her “to a drive-in movie out in the middle of nowhere.”
When asked who she’d cast to play Hezekiah, the bride-to-be responded, “For a comedy [I would cast] Martin Lawrence because he’s hilarious just like him. For a love story Blair Underwood because he’s such a charmer as well.”
Lori can’t imagine spending her life with anyone else and she describes her future hubby as “honest, loving and hilarious.”
What does Hezekiah love most about his leading lady? “Not only her ability to be my love, but my best friend,” the groom-to-be shares.
The pair dated for a year and a half before Hezekiah asked for Lori’s hand in marriage.
Friends of the happy couple are all about supporting Lori and Hezekiah’s love. “They think we’re made for each other,” says the bride-to-be.
“I knew it was coming because we had gone to look at rings,” Lori says of the proposal. “But I wasn’t sure when to expect it.”
Lori is so pleased to call Hezekiah her man. “I love that my future husband is a loving man of God,” she says.
Lori and Hezekiah’s families are all for keeping love alive. “Both of our parents have been married more than 25 years, so they are great examples for us,” says Lori.
“It/s no secret that I’m spoiled, but he’s not afraid to tell me no and stands his ground,” Lori shares. “As much as I sometimes hate it, I know it’s what I need so I secretly love it.”
After the wedding Lori and Hezekiah will escape to the Carribean for a romantic honeymoon.
The wedding location is near and dear to Lori’s heart: the couple will say their ‘I dos’ at her father’s church.
The dashing couple plans to continue growing together in every way. “We make each other better,” says Lori.
Hezekiah says what he’s most looking forward to in marriage is, “Having a beautiful family and growing old together.” He and Lori will make it offical this June in Greenville, North Carolina.
