How did you meet your man?
I was out with my cousin for a girl’s night dinner at Shou in Atlanta, and when we walked into the restaurant I noticed Will. I thought I recognized him from somewhere, but when I realized that he wasn’t who I thought he was, I still couldn’t stop looking. He was there with his dad and my cousin, so I sat at the bar next to them. Will and I were sitting the farthest away from each other so it was hard to have a conversation with him. I tried to get Will in on the conversation but it didn’t work. When they left the restaurant, I kept looking back over my shoulder at Will, thinking the restaurant windows were tinted and he couldn’t see me — I was wrong! He walked back into the restaurant, got real close and said, “Why are you looking at me like that?” I came back with, “I was wondering what a conversation with you would have been like but I guess with you sitting so far at the bar I’ll never know!” He said we should exchange numbers and find out, so we did. We were perfect for each other!
Did you play hard to get?
Nope, but I was mighty smooth.
Was it love at first sight?
I don’t believe in love at first sight, but I definitely noticed something special about him.
Who said “I love you” first?
I’ll admit, it was me. I just couldn’t hold it in anymore!
Best gift he ever got you?
He got me a leather jacket for my birthday. It showed me that he had been listening because I really wanted one.
How did he pop the question?
I had some errands to run that morning, and when I got back home, there were flowers waiting for me with a note attached asking me to meet him for dinner. When he picked me up, he was dressed up so I knew something was up. He took me to Houstons and I thought we were going home after dinner, but instead he told me the night wasn’t over. He took me to the Sundial Restaurant and Lounge in Atlanta (it is over 700 feet above the city and has a 360-degree view of downtown Atlanta). As soon as the elevator doors closed, he dropped to his knee as we rose to the top. It was perfect! I have the biggest smile on my face just thinking about it.
