“Toyosi anchors me and has taught me a lot about myself,” bride-to-be Damiola shares. “He protects me and defends me, but most importantly, he pushes me to be a better follower of Christ. We have the same ideas and values when it comes to our faith.”
Toyosi proposed to his soul mate Damilola with a double banded, white gold mounted, princess cut diamond ring. We bet it’s lovely!
“I’ve given our wedding the theme of heaven,” the bride-to-be shares. “But it’s basically white, clean and classic. Our colors are white with an accent of blush pink and gold. We are also both Nigerian so we will incorporate Nigerian music and dancing during the reception.”
“I love that my fiancé is humble,” says Toyosi. “She has a gentle spirit and thinks about the best of others at all times.”
“I was extremely nervous about proposing,” admits Toyosi. “I knew she would say yes, but I wanted to make sure that my plan was perfectly executed. It must have worked because she talks about that moment even till today.”
“I am really looking forward to having children with her,” says the groom-to-be.
The bride-to-be tells us she thinks her cooking skills helped to seal the deal!
“It was her love of God that made me fall in love with her,” says Toyosi. “She has an amazing devotion to her faith. This gave me confidence about our future together.”
Damilola says she’s not a bridezilla, but jokes that her sister might think otherwise.
“Looking into her eyes at the altar, I will have a mixture of so many emotions,” Toyosi shares. “I know it will feel like a dream come true.”
“We go out on a date every Friday night,” Damilola shares. “It is super fun because we love trying new places together. On Saturdays we run our errands together. I may go with him to wash his car, and he comes with me to the post office. I may go with him to get his car oil change, and he may come to the grocery store with me. If there are no errands to run, we would probably grab a red box, a blanket, and some ice cream.”
A sweet moment for a sweet couple. Kudos to their photographer for capturing their adoration for each other so beautifully.
“We went to Galveston last summer and spent the day at the pier, museum and beach,” says the bride-to-be. “It was sweet and romantic.”
“A day after my birthday party, he took me out on a date to the movies,” Damilola recalls. “We came back to my place and we were chatting on my balcony. He wrapped me in his arms and told me the story of his life. He also professed his interest in me and asked me to be his girlfriend. He told me to pray about it and give him an answer when I had heard from God. At that moment, I heard a voice that simply said ‘it’s ok.’ At that moment, I knew he was the one. I didn’t tell him though. Not until two days later.”
“After our second encounter, I knew she was extremely intelligent,” explains the groom-to-be. “She also spoke with passion about her work. Most girls that I dated would talk about what they drove or what they just bought, but she spoke about her students and how they inspire her. I knew she would be a keeper.”
