Ti’tiana and Brent fell for each other as college freshmen when her mom introduced them. Six years later they reconnected and instantly rekindled their love. Next summer the couple will join in holy matrimony. “We promised each other that we will have a wonderful marriage and work to ensure that we outdo ourselves,” she says. “We want to make each other fall in love daily.”
“What attracted me to her the most was her confidence and her independence. She had this way of commanding my attention, but it’s how much she cares about me that made me fall in love,” Brent says of his soon-to-be wife.
“Our entire relationship has been long distance,” says the bride-to-be. “It doesn’t matter what Brent has going on, he makes sure I know that I’m the most important person in his life. He has never gone a morning without calling me so we can pray together and to tell me he loves me. He gives me 1000-percent of himself.”
“I want to give their daughter the life that she wants and be there to love her, support and provide strength,” says Brent of his message to his bride-to-be’s parents. “All of this as a measure of thanks for the spiritual strength and guidance they gave her, which we now share.”
“Brent is intelligent, loyal and driven,” says Ti’tiana. “I think he chose to marry me because I believe in him.”
“I love that my future husband is my best friend,” says Ti’tiana. “I love that she is an independent, God-fearing, career and family oriented woman,” Brent adds. “[She] is passionate about every detail of our future and the lives we will be sharing.”
“My girlfriends are ‘Tteam Brent’ all the way. They say, thank God there’s a man that can complement and handle me,” says Ti’tiana.
“We met in college and after freshmen year my family moved away. About six years later, we reconnected when I was 25. I accidently called him while trying to call a friend. I freaked out when I realized it was him and hung up on him. He called me back, and we’ve been together ever since.”
“I was drawn immediately to what I call his ‘shy swag,'” says the bride-to-be. “He was respectful, intelligent, and very sweet. He said he thought that he would never have a shot with me. He was wrong.”
“For our first vacation, I hadn’t seem him in six years. The moment I saw him walk out of that terminal, it was over for me. My heart was completely his. We spent the rest of that week falling in love,” Ti’tiana recalls.
“I was a little bit nervous about proposing, but I was ready. I knew what I wanted to say, and the moment couldn’t have been more perfect,” Brent tells us.
“We stay on the go!” That’s the groom-to-be’s favorite line to describe their life together. “We both love sports so we hit the gym together, go for runs, and play tennis,” she says. “But, on a Friday night, you’ll probably catch us cuddled up on the couch watching a movie and sharing some ice cream and cookies.”
“He’s what I asked God for,” says Ta’tiana. “He’s God’s manifestation of his love for me and that’s a blessing.”
Ti’tiana admits, “Brent is my first everything…How awesome is it that I get to marry my first and only love?” We agree! Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Want to see your engagement story featured in Just Engaged? Email us now!
